Ski group lessons

Adult group lessons at ESF Avoriaz are designed for adults who want to improve their skiing or snowboarding while learning alongside other riders of a similar ability. With structured instruction, regular practice and guidance from an experienced ESF instructor, the format combines focused progression with the social atmosphere of learning as part of a group.

ESF Avoriaz offers adult alpine ski lessons for a range of abilities, from intermediate skiers through to more advanced participants. Skiers can join groups corresponding to Classes 1 to 4, helping ensure that instruction is appropriate to their existing experience and technical level. One of the attractions of a group lesson is that improvement takes place alongside other adults rather than in a one-to-one setting. Participants can share the experience of learning, practising new skills and exploring the mountain together, while the instructor provides professional feedback throughout the session.

The emphasis is on making measurable progress without losing the enjoyment of being on the mountain. Depending on the group level, instructors can work on skiing technique, confidence, control and the ability to make the most of Avoriaz's varied terrain.

Snowboard group lessons

Snowboarders can also join ESF Avoriaz's adult group programme. The school describes its snowboard classes as suitable for all levels, from people discovering snowboarding for the first time to riders looking to improve their existing technique.

The standard adult snowboard course runs in the morning from 9:00 to 11:00. Like the ski programme, it is available as a five- or six-session course, with individual morning sessions also offered. The teaching approach is intended to help riders become more comfortable on their board, develop their technique and gain confidence on the slopes.
