Austria resort guide

Austria is a destination for skiers from all around the world.   Many resorts have a traditional feel with picturesque village centres with cobbled stoned streets full of shops and cafe's,  as well as onion domed churches

Some resorts having stunning scenery such as Zell am See which also has a lake that freezes over for good parts of the winter creating the perfect photo opportunity.

As the weather is unpredictable in the world nowadays, more and more resorts are now covered by snow-making facilities to help at the start and end of the ski season,  or you can also choose a resort that is a higher altitude and more snow sure - or for guaranteed snow choose a resort closr to the one of the Glaciers such Mayrhofen, Solden, Obergurgl,  Zell am See / Kaprun

The Arlberg ski region has over 300km of slopes to try out or maybe go for the SkiWelt linking many resorts and over 200km of skiable pistes. If you are a beginner you don't really need huge ski areas so maybe choose one of the smaller ski areas which often are a lot cheaper as well.
