Ischgl Overview

Ischgl is an upmarket ski resort that has superb skiing for intermediates and is also famous for it's après ski scene and nightlife. With a fast, modern ski lift system, Ischgl also has superb snow conditions due to the fact that most of the skiing is above 1800m and so ensures good conditions from early December to late April

The slopes above Ischgl are wide and at a high altitude, with lots of long descents that are great for intermediates

Why not try the 8km Duty Free run down to the neighbouring resort of Samnaun in Switzerland which is one of the longest ski runs in the area.

The center of the village has glitz and glamour with boutiques and bars lining the streets. It's easy to see why Ischgl is famous for its party atmosphere, during après ski you will find yourself dancing on tables at a piste-side bar before heading to one of the nightclubs for a taste of Ibiza in the Alps. In the village there are also many restaurants and cafes and small wine bars if you want to take a more relaxed evening

Things to do in Ischgl

Activities - Ischgl offers a wide range of activities during winter, making it a destination for much more than traditional Silvretta Arena provides extensive opportunities for skiing and snowboarding, with slopes reaching almost 2,900 metres and a cross-border connection into Switzerland. Freeriding, ski touring and the Ischgl Snowpark add further options for experienced winter sports enthusiasts. Away from the pistes, visitors can enjoy winter hiking and snowshoeing through the snowy Paznaun landscape, with routes ranging from easy walks to longer mountain tours. Night tobogganing is another popular activity, with Ischgl's run stretching for more than seven kilometres. Ice skating and Bavarian curling are available around the Silvretta Therme, while the thermal spa itself offers pools, saunas and relaxation areas for quieter. In the evening, visitors can experience Ischgl's lively Alpine atmosphere, enjoy local cuisine and take part in seasonal events. With its combination of winter sports, outdoor activities, wellness and entertainment, Ischgl offers plenty of ways to enjoy the mountains throughout the winter season.

Restaurants - Ischgl has a diverse restaurant scene, ranging from traditional Tyrolean cuisine and cosy mountain huts to international dishes and sophisticated fine dining. Local specialities such as Kaspressknödel, Speckknödel and Käsespätzle are widely available, while visitors can also find pizza, Mediterranean food and modern culinary creations. Examples include Gourmet Restaurant Stüva, known for its fine-dining experience, Paznauerstube for contemporary cuisine with regional influences, and Lucy Wang Ischgl for Japanese and French-inspired dishes. For a more traditional Alpine experience, mountain restaurants and huts around the ski area offer hearty meals with panoramic views.

Apres Ski & Nightlife - Ischgl is renowned for its lively après-ski and nightlife scene, with the action often starting as soon as the ski lifts close. Popular venues include Trofana Alm, where après-ski begins in the afternoon with DJs, Alpine food and a party atmosphere, and Kuhstall, a well-known spot near the Silvrettabahn where music and dancing continue into the evening. Other options include Schatzi Bar for lively slope-side après-ski and fire & ice APRES.SKI / CLUB / LOUNGE, which combines après-ski, cocktails and late-night clubbing. For a more relaxed evening, the Hotel Madlein offers a stylish lounge and cocktail bar that stays open into the early hours. With its compact village centre, Ischgl makes it easy to move between après-ski bars, pubs and clubs, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the winter season.

Important - From 2000 - 0600 you can’t walk through the center of the village wearing your ski/board boots or carrying your skis/board due to noise and safety risks. A fine of €2,000. is in place for breaking this rule

Airport Transfers - How to get to Ischgl

We can organise your transfers from Salzburg airport, Innsbruck airport, Klagenfurt airport, Friedrichshafen airport, Zurich or Munich airports. You can also choose between a shuttle transfer which can be more economical if only a few people are travelling or a private transfer which will take you direct from the airport to your accommodation.
