Children Group Lessons Flaine

Children’s group lessons at the ESF Ski and Snowboard School in Flaine are designed to make learning to ski or snowboard enjoyable while giving young riders a clear path for progression. The school offers programmes for children from around five years old, with classes organised according to ability so that children can learn alongside others at a similar level.

ESF Flaine's standard children's ski lessons cover levels from beginner through Étoile d'Or. Children are placed in groups according to their skiing ability, allowing instructors to adapt the programme as the group develops during the week. The teaching combines technical exercises with games and practical skiing, helping children improve without making lessons feel overly formal.

Groups normally have around 11 children per instructor. This gives children the opportunity to learn with their peers while still receiving regular guidance from their instructor. The school also aims to introduce children to the wider Massif ski area as their ability allows.

Children's Group Snowboard Lessons from Age 8

Children who prefer a snowboard can join ESF Flaine's dedicated snowboard school from eight years old. Group snowboard lessons are available for all levels, with instructors adjusting the teaching to the ability of the group. The snowboard programme is designed to build confidence progressively. Depending on their experience and the conditions, children may explore different terrain, practise flatland techniques or eventually experience the snow park. Groups are limited to around 10 pupils per instructor.

ESF recommends starting a snowboard course from the first day of the programme because progression can be rapid, making it more difficult for a child to catch up if they miss the initial sessions.
