Property details

Hameau des Prodains - Hôtel & Restaurant is a family-run three-star chalet hotel located in the Les Prodains area of Morzine-Avoriaz, in the French Alps. Positioned directly beside the Prodains Express cable car, the hotel has an unusually convenient setting for winter sports, while its mountain surroundings give it a quieter, more natural character than accommodation in the centre of Morzine.

The property is part of the wider Hameau des Prodains, which brings together a hotel, a separate high-end apartment residence, a restaurant, an après-ski venue and wellness facilities. This creates more of a small mountain destination than a simple place to sleep. Guests can eat, relax, socialise and unwind without necessarily having to leave the property.

The hotel's history is particularly appealing. The Premat family has been welcoming visitors here since 1962, when the family mountain farm was transformed first into a restaurant and subsequently into a hotel. Three generations have since been involved in developing the property while retaining its family-run character.

The Hameau des Prodains grew alongside the development of the local ski infrastructure. The hotel was built around the same period as the Prodains ski lifts, making its location closely connected with the history of skiing in the Morzine-Avoriaz area.

The hotel contains 17 rooms, giving it a relatively intimate scale compared with larger resort hotels. Accommodation is available in single, double, triple, family and communicating configurations.

The room categories currently include:

* Double Classic

* Double Mountain

* Double Modern Mountain

* Triple Mountain

* Triple Modern Mountain

* Family rooms

* An accessible room in the adjacent residence building

Room sizes vary according to category. For example, the Double Mountain rooms are approximately 13.5 m², while the Modern Mountain Triple rooms are around 20 m². Family rooms can accommodate up to four people.

This range makes the hotel flexible for different types of travellers. Couples can select a compact double room, while families can choose larger rooms or communicating accommodation.

Many of the rooms have balconies overlooking the surrounding mountains. The views are one of the property's most appealing features because the hotel is positioned in a particularly dramatic part of the valley, surrounded by steep Alpine terrain and cliffs.

The Double Mountain rooms, for example, have balconies with views toward the surrounding mountains. They combine warm timber elements and mountain-inspired textiles with modern facilities.

Although the hotel retains a traditional chalet identity, the rooms are equipped with contemporary conveniences. Facilities listed by the hotel include:

* High-quality bedding

* Flat-screen or smart television

* Free Wi-Fi

* Direct-dial telephone

* Safe

* Private bathroom

* Shower or bath, depending on room

* Hairdryer

* Guest toiletries

* Daily housekeeping

* Mountain-view balconies in selected categories

* Secure parking facilities.

Food is an important part of the Hameau des Prodains experience.

The on-site restaurant, La Table du Hameau, combines traditional mountain influences with more contemporary cuisine. The family describes its cooking as a combination of refined, modern food and Alpine flavours, with the culinary tradition being passed down through three generations. The restaurant is open for different parts of the day, making it particularly convenient for hotel guests. Breakfast is served as a continental buffet, with a wide selection of sweet and savoury items. The hotel's current breakfast description includes breads, pastries, homemade cakes, cereals, cold meats, cheeses, homemade yoghurt, fresh fruit, jams, eggs and hot drinks. The emphasis on homemade products gives breakfast a more personal feel than a standard hotel buffet. At lunchtime, guests can take advantage of the restaurant's mountain setting and outdoor terrace. The menu combines straightforward dishes such as salads and burgers with regional specialities, fish and more elaborate meat dishes. Dinner takes a more refined approach, with seasonal menus and themed mountain evenings. Two traditional Savoyard evenings are offered each week, including raclette and pierrade. Vegetarian and children's adaptations can be arranged when requested in advance. For guests staying on half board, the arrangement can make the hotel particularly convenient: breakfast and dinner are handled on site, leaving visitors free to concentrate on skiing, hiking and sightseeing during the day. The restaurant is not simply an additional hotel service; it is an important component of the property's identity.

After an active day in the mountains, the hotel's wellness facilities provide a place to slow down. The wellness area includes a bio spa, a 36°C massaging whirlpool bath and a traditional sauna. The emphasis is on relaxation rather than a large-scale luxury spa. Guests can use the facilities to ease tired muscles and unwind after skiing, hiking or cycling. The property also has a fitness area, giving active travellers another option for maintaining their routine while away.

The swimming pool is another major attraction. For winter 2025/26, the Hameau des Prodains introduced a fully covered and heated pool, allowing guests to use it during the winter season as well as during warmer months.

This is particularly valuable for a ski hotel. After spending several hours outdoors in cold conditions, guests can return to a heated pool rather than needing to find another wellness facility elsewhere.

High-speed Wi-Fi is provided throughout the property.
