Local Ski Pass Morzine

The local pass gives you access to the Morzine and Les Gets ski area, the largest in the Portes du Soleil with 120km of pistes to explore.

The local pass is designed for skiers who primarily want to explore the slopes around Morzine and Les Gets. It provides access to the connected Morzine–Les Gets ski area, making it a practical choice for families, beginners and intermediate skiers who do not necessarily need to travel across the wider Portes du Soleil.

One of its biggest advantages is simplicity. You can spend the day skiing around Morzine, move towards Les Gets and return without needing to plan longer cross-resort journeys. For visitors staying in Morzine, this can be more than enough terrain for a short break.

The local area also offers a useful mix of skiing. Beginners can use the gentler nursery and progression areas, while intermediate skiers have plenty of opportunities to explore longer pistes and different sectors. More experienced skiers can use the local terrain as a base before deciding whether they want to venture further afield.

For a holiday of only a few days, particularly if the priority is relaxed skiing rather than covering as much ground as possible, the local pass can therefore be a sensible and economical choice.

Area Ski Pass Portes du Soleil

The Portes du Soleil ski pass gives you unlimited access to 650km of pistes in 12 different ski resorts, from Les Gets, Morzine all the way across to the Swiss resorts of Champéry and Morgins.

The Portes du Soleil pass takes the experience to another level. Rather than limiting you to the Morzine–Les Gets sector, it gives access to the enormous Franco-Swiss Portes du Soleil ski area. The network links 12 resorts and provides more than 650 km of pistes, making it one of Europe's major interconnected ski destinations.

From Morzine, the pass allows skiers to explore destinations including Avoriaz, Châtel, Les Gets, Montriond, Morgins, Champéry and Les Crosets, among others. The international character of the area is one of its great attractions: on the same ski holiday, you can cross between France and Switzerland without needing a separate lift pass.

This larger pass is particularly attractive to confident intermediate and advanced skiers. It gives you considerably more scope to plan full-day adventures, discover different types of terrain and ski in a new area each day. It is also a strong option for longer stays. The larger the holiday, the more valuable the variety becomes, since you are less likely to feel that you are repeating the same pistes.
