Mottaret is part of the large Three Valleys ski area which boasts over 600 km of ski slopes. It is located right next to Meribel. Mottaret is one of the best-connected resorts in the entire ski area and is also slightly cheaper than Meribel, making it a particularly popular location.
The slopes of Mottaret are suitable for skiers of all levels as there are areas dedicated to everyone. Right next to the village, there is an area dedicated to those skiing for the first time or those who are just starting out, as well as easy blue slopes. Intermediate skiers will find this resort very satisfying, whilst more experienced skiers and freeride enthusiasts will find plenty of fresh powder to enjoy.
The village of Mottaret was built with the aim of being convenient thanks to its proximity to the ski slopes, but this does not mean that it is not aesthetically pleasing. It is a mountain village surrounded by beautiful peaks, so you can enjoy a beautiful view of the landscape surrounding the resort. As for accommodations, there are both hotels and apartments to suit all tastes and budgets. For foodies, there are many restaurants to choose from, as well as several bars where you can enjoy a drink before or after dinner. However, if you want a wider choice, you can head to nearby Meribel.

Things to do - During your stay in Mottaret, you will have the opportunity to participate in various activities, such as ski touring, freeriding, snowshoe walking, ice climbing, indoor ice skating, snow tubing, snowkiting, dog sledding, paragliding and skidooing. To relax, there is a recreation centre with a swimming pool and a cinema. Horse riding is also available. If you're in the mood for fun, you can challenge your family or friends to a game of bowling.
Restaurants - Mottaret offers many restaurants to choose from during your holiday, and prices can be lower than those in Meribel. We recommend trying the Pizzeria du Mottaret, particularly well known for its pizza, but you can also enjoy meat and fish dishes here. Le Rasto, a relaxed and informal restaurant serving authentic dishes prepared with fresh ingredients, and the Restaurant Côte Brune, located right at the end of the ski slopes, serving typical French dishes and boasting a large sunny terrace.
Nightlife - Mottaret offers a few places where you can enjoy an aperitif after a day on the slopes, given its proximity to the local ski runs. However, if you are looking for something more lively, you could head to nearby Merbel, which has a decidedly more vibrant nightlife. Among the places to try are La Table du Ruitor Bar, a cosy wine bar that also has a terrace, La Folie Douce, the perfect place to party outdoors with live music, Le Downtown, the liveliest place in Mottaret, particularly popular for après-ski but open until late at night, and Le Rambler, famous for après-ski and also because you can watch sport on TV.
