Livigno offers reliable snow conditions, duty-free shopping, great apres ski and a wide range of slopes suited to both beginners and experienced skiers. Cervinia provides high-altitude skiing, while Sauze d’Oulx is known for its lively atmosphere and access to the wider Milky Way ski area.

Food is one of Italy’s strongest advantages. Lunch on the mountains and relaxing Italian dinners are often a large part of the ski holiday experience so many people choose self-catering accommodation to enjoy the variety of restaurants available.

The Italian resorts can also provide good value for money compared with some of the larger French destinations. However, lift systems and resort transport vary, so it is important to choose the right resort and accommodation area.

Arinsal and Pal offer a fabulous, more budget-friendly option focused towards families, beginners and intermediates in particular.

Ski schools in Andorra are widely used by British visitors, with English-speaking instructors. A ski or snowboard holiday in Andorra is a great, budget-friendly option when compared to resorts in France and Austria.

The journey from the airport usually involves a longer road transfer (approx 3.5 hours) because Andorra does not have its own major international airport. However, many visitors feel the value and accessibility of the skiing make the journey worthwhile and return year after year.
