Children and teenagers group ski school
ESF Alpe d’Huez offers a wide range of group ski lessons for young holidaymakers, with programmes designed around age, ability and progression. From children discovering skiing for the first time to teenagers looking for greater independence and more challenging terrain, the school provides a friendly environment where young skiers can develop their skills while enjoying the social side of a group.
Group lessons are available for children aged 4 to 12, with classes organised according to skiing ability. Groups are limited to around 10 participants, helping instructors provide guidance while maintaining an enjoyable atmosphere. Lessons range from beginner stages through to advanced levels and competition-focused programmes.
For younger children, ESF Alpe d’Huez uses playful teaching methods to make learning enjoyable while developing balance, control and confidence. As children progress, they can work through the recognised French ski-school levels, including Ourson, Flocon and the Étoile stages.
Teenagers aged 13 to 17 can join the Team Rider, a dedicated group programme designed specifically for their age range. It welcomes different abilities, from those still developing their skiing to more confident young skiers. Groups are limited to around 10 participants, creating a sociable setting where teenagers can learn alongside peers.
The programme combines technical development with varied skiing experiences, giving teenagers the chance to improve their skills, discover different types of terrain and build confidence on the mountain. Adult Group Ski School
The Alpe d’Huez Ski School offers adult group ski lessons for visitors who want to learn the basics, regain confidence or develop their technique while enjoying the social atmosphere of skiing with others. Courses are organised according to ability, making it easier for participants to join a group that matches their current experience.
Adult group lessons are limited to around eight participants, although group sizes can vary slightly to maintain appropriate levels. This creates a friendly environment where guests can learn alongside other skiers while receiving guidance from an experienced instructor.
Courses are available in morning, afternoon and full-day formats, with six-lesson programmes offered during the season. Lift passes and insurance are additional, so these should be arranged separately when required.
Whether you are taking your first turns, returning to skiing after a break or aiming to become a more accomplished skier, ESF Alpe d’Huez provides a structured and enjoyable way to make progress while discovering this renowned French Alpine resort.

Private Ski / Snowboard Lessons
Private lessons are arranged to suit the client’s availability; clients can choose the day and time, subject, of course, to the school’s availability (for this reason, particularly if you are travelling during the high season, we recommend booking your lessons in advance). Lessons are available for a range of disciplines, from alpine skiing to freestyle skiing, freeride skiing and snowboarding.
Depending on your skill level, you’ll agree on a meeting point for the lesson with the instructor.
