Bansko Overview

Bansko is a medium-sized ski resort with 75 km of ski slopes. It offers a truly heavenly landscape, being part of Pirin National Park. This resort is ideal for beginner skiers: it boasts a nursery area at the top of the mountain, so even if you're still inexperienced, you can take the gondola right away and enjoy the beautiful views while learning. Even more experienced skiers have some options, such as the black Tomba run, where World Cup competitions are also held. A positive aspect of this ski area is that most of the slopes face north, so the snow remains excellent throughout the day.

The town of Bansko is charming. Its UNESCO-protected centre features buildings with terracotta roofs and is dotted with restaurants, bars, and clubs, all with prices significantly lower than those of other European resorts, so your outings will be less expensive. This location offers a very wide range of restaurants, from the more traditional ones to more international options.  As for the accommodations, they are modern and elegant, without being a problem for the wallet.

Things to do in Bansko

Things to do - Bankso offers a variety of activities beyond traditional skiing and snowboarding. These include cross-country skiing, outdoor ice skating, and skidooing. If you're looking to relax, you can enjoy a swim at the pool and spa. If you're looking for a challenge, there's also bowling.

Restaurants - Bansko boasts a truly wide culinary offering, with 40 mehanas, traditional eating houses, and 60 restaurants that also offer international cuisine. Among the places we recommend are Amvrosia, which offers excellent meat dishes in a cosy yet refined atmosphere; The Avalon, a restaurant serving traditional English cuisine; Mehana Momimi Dvori, which offers both Bulgarian and international dishes and was the first restaurant of its kind to open in the town; Leonardo, an Italian restaurant serving pasta, pizza, and risotto; and The London Pub, a classic, welcoming pub.

Nightlife - Bansko is the ideal place if, in addition to skiing, you want to have fun and party until the early hours. There's also a very fun aspect to partying here, namely the fact that drinks are incredibly cheap. Among the clubs you should check out are The Happy End, an Austrian-style venue that's the largest après-ski spot in Bansko; Jack's Pub, the perfect place to party with hot music, dancers, and cheap drinks; Amigo Pub, where rock & roll reigns supreme; Euphoria, a trendy venue with live music; and Flash, where you can dance the night away to DJ sets.
