Avoriaz is nestled among beautiful peaks and offers an incomparable view of the Alpine landscape. This resort is part of the large Portes du Soleil ski area, which boasts over 650 km of ski slopes. Avoriaz in particular is a true paradise for intermediate skiers, although beginners and more experienced skiers will also find terrain to suit their needs.
The town of Avoriaz has a rather unique style: it is made up of tall buildings with wooden walls, and cars are not allowed in the centre, so you can stroll around in peace and walk straight to your accommodation. Unlike other resorts in France, Avoriaz offers many self-catering accommodations and is therefore particularly suitable for groups and families. Although the choice of restaurants is not as wide as in other resorts, Avoriaz still has more than 30 establishments to choose from, whether you prefer pizza, gourmet dishes or traditional French cuisine. The après-ski and nightlife scene is quite lively in Avoriaz, thanks in part to the completely pedestrianised centre.

Things to do - In addition to skiing and snowboarding, Avoriaz offers other activities such as ski touring, freeriding, cross-country skiing, snowshoe walking, paragliding, skidooing and sleigh rides. For a moment of relaxation, you can spend time at the leisure centre or swimming pool, enjoy an evening at the cinema or have fun with friends and family at the bowling alley.
Restaurants - Avoriaz offers around 30 restaurants, where you can enjoy traditional French dishes, pizza or gourmet cuisine. Among the restaurants we recommend trying are Les Fontaines Blanches, a typically French restaurant offering both traditional dishes and a selection of pizzas, Les Enfants Terribles, Hôtel des Dromonts, mentioned in the Michelin guide and serving high-quality meat and fish dishes, La Réserve, a refined restaurant where you can enjoy gourmet dishes, Chalet-Hotel Neige-Roc, which prepares typical dishes with fresh, local produce, L'Etage, with a beautiful view of the ski slopes, where you can enjoy typical dishes such as raclette, and Le 155 Steakhouse, which offers many types of meat and excellent wines.
Nightlife - Avoriaz offers many possibilities when it comes to après-ski and nightlife. In fact, the centre is teeming with various bars located along the village's pedestrian streets. Among those we recommend trying are Le Tavaillon, where you can watch sports on a giant screen and enjoy excellent beers, and La Kinkerne, one of the traditional bars in the area that hosts DJ sets and serves German beer. It also hosts parties with cheap drinks and guaranteed fun. Then there is Le Strike Roc Bowling Bar, ideal for an evening of games with friends, JaJa Bar, a refined wine bar, and The Place, where you can listen to live music and DJ sets.
