Overview
Samoëns is a small, traditional mountain village, renowned for its authenticity. In fact, it is a village where local people live all year round, so it is not merely a tourist destination.
The village lies at an altitude of around 700 metres and is connected to the ski slopes by the Grand Massif Express gondola, which leads to the vast Grand Massif ski area.
This resort is particularly suitable for families with children and for beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. It is, in fact, a rather quiet place with a calm and relaxed atmosphere, so if you’re looking for somewhere to let your hair down at après-ski events and in nightclubs, this isn’t the place for you. Most of the slopes are easy, wide and not too steep, making them suitable for beginners. However, more experienced skiers will also find plenty to enjoy, especially those who love off-piste skiing and ski touring.

Nightlife - As mentioned earlier, Samoëns isn’t particularly well known for its après-ski scene or nightlife, as it generally has a rather laid-back atmosphere, best suited to families and those looking to relax.
