Overview
Les Contamines is a ski area divided into two interconnected sectors, offering 120 km of slopes.
This resort is particularly family-friendly, as it is well-known for its services and facilities tailored to children of all ages, from the youngest to the oldest.
Thanks to the large number of easy, gentle slopes, this resort is ideal for children and beginner skiers. However, intermediate and more experienced skiers will also find plenty to enjoy: there are several red and blue runs, and the area is also excellent for off-piste skiing and ski touring. If you wish, you can also book a high-mountain guide, so you can safely explore all the slopes accompanied by an expert.
The village of Les Contamines is a typical mountain village, made up of wooden chalets, which has managed to preserve its authenticity, as there are still more than 1,200 permanent residents, so it is not merely a tourist destination. It offers a variety of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets, as well as several bars. As for après-ski and nightlife, Les Contamines isn’t particularly lively, as it favors a calmer, more relaxed atmosphere; so if you’re looking for wild fun, this isn’t exactly the place for you. However, there are a few spots where you can enjoy a drink and perhaps catch a concert.

Restaurants - Les Contamines offers a wide variety of restaurants to choose from, serving both traditional local dishes—namely Savoyard cuisine—and international fare. Among the places we recommend trying are Le Christiania, where you can enjoy traditional local dishes such as raclette, fondue, and croute savoyarde; L'Op Traken, which offers both traditional dishes and Italian cuisine and is open late into the night; La Trabla, which features a spectacular open fire and serves both traditional local dishes and Italian cuisine; La Bûche Croisée, located on the ski slopes inside an old Alpine farmhouse, a family-friendly spot offering Savoyard cuisine; and Chez Gaston, situated on the slopes at an altitude of 2,000 meters.
Nightlife - This town isn't particularly known for its après-ski scene or nightlife, as it has a calmer, more relaxed atmosphere. However, there are a few places where you can go for a drink and maybe some music, such as Tetras, Ty Briez, which also hosts concerts that go on late into the night and the Saxo.
