Overview

Les Houches is a small village situated in the Chamonix valley, just 6 km from the famous Chamonix ski resort.

The ski area, known as Les Houches – St. Gervais, can be reached via the Bellevue cable car or the Prarion gondola.

It is the perfect resort for families with children and for beginners, thanks to its wide range of nursery areas and gentle, wide slopes, which are ideal for those just learning to ski. However, intermediate and advanced skiers will also find slopes to suit them: there are 13 red runs and 4 black runs, including the one used for World Cup races. There is also a snow park for freestyle skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts.

Things to do in Les Houches

Things to do - As well as skiing and snowboarding on the slopes, here in Les Houches you can also enjoy freeriding, freestyle skiing and cross-country skiing. Children can also have fun sledging.

Restaurants - Les Houches has a small selection of restaurants, including some excellent choices. These include La Cinguette des Chavants, which offers simple, authentic cuisine in a friendly atmosphere; the Rocky Pop Restaurant, the ideal spot for both families and friends; and Le Basilic Restaurant, which is situated right at the foot of the slopes and is therefore the perfect place for a quick bite to eat during a day on the slopes or after you’ve finished skiing.

Nightlife - Les Houches isn’t particularly renowned for its après-ski scene or nightlife, as it favours a rather relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. However, thanks to Les Houches’ proximity to Chamonix (just 6 kilometres away), those looking for a bit of fun will find plenty of bars, après-ski venues and clubs.
