Courchevel Overview

Courchevel is part of the large Three Valleys ski resort, which boasts more than 600 km of ski slopes, where skiers of all levels, from beginners to experts, can find the right terrain for them. Furthermore, thanks to the fact that the slopes face north, you will always find snow in excellent condition for skiing at your best throughout the day and throughout the season.

This ski resort is made up of four villages: the charming and peaceful Le Praz, the relaxing Courchevel Village, the lively Courchevel Moriond and Courchevel 1850, the most exclusive and luxurious, so you are sure to find the place that suits you best. Among all these villages, you will find more than 60 restaurants to choose from, whatever your tastes, whether you prefer luxurious restaurants (there are in fact 7 Michelin-starred restaurants) or places with a more relaxed atmosphere, such as pizzerias and burger joints. The après-ski and nightlife are also top-notch here, whether you prefer laid-back venues or partying until the early hours.

In addition, for a break from the slopes, you can visit Aquamotion, the largest leisure centre in the Alps and the ideal place to relax and have fun.

Things to do - Courchevel offers a wide range of activities to enjoy during your stay, from adrenaline-fuelled sports and outdoor activities such as ice climbing, ice skating, ski touring, cross-country skiing, paragliding, dog sledding, airboarding, sledge riding, snowshoe walking, skidooing, snow scooters and fat biking, to more relaxing activities such as a visit to Aquamotion, the largest leisure centre in the Alps, a game of bowling or enjoying a film at the local cinema. One experience not to be missed is a hot air balloon trip.

Restaurants - Courchevel boasts more than 60 restaurants scattered along the ski slopes and in the four villages that make up the resort, so you are sure to find the places that suit you best, whether they are the most luxurious and exclusive restaurants, perhaps even Michelin-starred, or those with a more relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Among those we recommend you try are Le Chabichou, located in the exclusive Courchevel 1850 and boasting two Michelin stars, the Funky Fox, a decidedly more casual place where you can enjoy excellent burgers, the Oeil de Boeuf, specialising in high-quality meat dishes, the Azimut, another Michelin-starred restaurant with a modern and refined atmosphere, La Cortana, which offers a wide range of pizzas as well as pasta, meat and traditional dishes in an informal setting at reasonable prices, and Cucina Angelina, where the creative mind of Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnet offers typical mountain dishes with an Italian touch.

Nightlife - Courchevel offers a wide range of venues when it comes to après-ski and nightlife, catering to all tastes and budgets, from more laid-back venues to those where you can party until dawn. Among the places to check out are La Bubble, which offers live sports and live music most evenings, and Milk, undoubtedly the place to be for the perfect après-ski, even if it can be more expensive than other venues. Le Caterail, great for a pre-dinner drink with wine and beer and located right in the centre of the village, the Purple Cafe, a refined Parisian-style venue with a wide range of wines and excellent cocktails to choose from, Le Caves de Courchevel Bar, offering the best DJ sets, and The Fire and Ice Bar, which offers the largest terrace in Courchevel.
