Overview
La Rosière is a ski resort located in France. Although it is small compared to other resorts in the Alps, the ski area offers 155 km of trails within the Espace San Bernardo, which it shares with the Italian ski resort of La Thuile. Thanks to the resort’s high altitude, snow conditions remain excellent for a long time, and reliable snowfall is guaranteed. Espace San Bernardo is a ski area particularly well-suited for beginners, as the resort offers mostly wide, gently sloping blue runs, which are ideal for learning. Additionally, right near the town there are free lifts for those who are learning. However, there are also plenty of red runs where intermediate skiers can enjoy themselves. For more experienced skiers, La Rosière offers 12 advanced runs, as well as several spots for freeride skiing.
The village of La Rosière is charming, as it was built using local stone, which gives it a unique character. It is a fairly quiet place, with a few bars and restaurants, particularly renowned for the quality of the food they serve, where you can sample local specialities. Near La Rosière, about 1 kilometre away, there is also a smaller village called Les Eucherts.

Things to do in La Rosiere
Things to do - As well as skiing and snowboarding on the slopes, there are plenty of other snow-based activities to enjoy in La Rosière. These include cross-country skiing, snowshoe walking, snowkiting, snow biking, paret sledging, dog sledding, snowmobiling and heli-skiing. As well as snow-based activities, you can go bowling, enjoy a film at the cinema, watch ice hockey matches and try indoor ice skating.
Restaurants - In La Rosière, there are around 20 restaurants to choose from. Although the choice isn’t vast, the food here has an excellent reputation, thanks to the high quality of the dishes on offer. Among the restaurants we recommend trying are Le Genepi, an Anglo-French-owned establishment offering excellent local cuisine; Le Terroir des Vignobles, an elegant restaurant serving high-quality gourmet dishes; and Le Flocon, located in Les Eucherts, a restaurant with a cheerful and friendly atmosphere serving meat dishes and pizza, which also features a bowling alley.
Nightlife - As mentioned earlier, La Rosière is a quiet and relaxed place, better suited to families with children than to those who like to party late into the night. However, there are a few bars where you can enjoy a great drink, perhaps on a Tuesday, which is the liveliest day of the week. Among the venues you might want to pop into are Bar 1850, a classic French bar that also shows live sport; Via Ferrata, a cocktail lounge that also serves sushi dishes; and Le Comptoir, a Scandinavian-style venue with a lovely terrace, open until 2 am.
