Val Thorens Overview

Val Thorens is part of the Three Valleys ski area, which offers an impressive 600 km of slopes connected by modern, fast lifts. Thanks to the high altitude of this ski resort, excellent snow conditions are guaranteed throughout the season. The terrain of this ski resort is suitable for skiers of all levels, from those trying this activity for the first time, to intermediate skiers, to the most experienced. In this resort, you can also ski on ice, at the Glacier de Peclet, where freeride skiing enthusiasts will find plenty to enjoy. In fact, Val Thorens is a true paradise for off-piste skiing enthusiasts.

The town of Val Thorens is compact and surrounded by beautiful peaks that you can admire directly from the village, which offers many ski-in/ski-out accommodations thanks to its immediate proximity to the ski slopes. In this location, you will find many places to choose from, from Michelin-starred restaurants to more affordable ones with a more relaxed atmosphere. Things to do - Among the activities you can try here in Val Thorens are ski touring, freeride skiing, snowshoe walking, winter biking, snow tubing, ice climbing, ice skating, ice driving, ice karting and skidooing. For adrenaline junkies, there is also a zip line to try. To relax, you can visit the leisure centre with its swimming pool, enjoy a film at the local cinema or challenge your family or friends to a game of bowling. There is also the option of taking a helicopter flight. 

Restaurants - The Val Thorens ski resort offers more than 60 restaurants to choose from, catering to all tastes and budgets, so you are sure to find the best places for you depending on your culinary preferences. Val Thorens also boasts 10 Michelin-starred restaurants, so if you are a lover of haute cuisine, this is definitely the place for you. Among the restaurants worth visiting are Les Explorateurs, a small and refined Michelin-starred restaurant, Les Enfants Terribles, a restaurant with a refined atmosphere specialising in fish dishes, Le Joyeuse Fondue, the perfect place to enjoy typical local cuisine, Le Rendezvous, an Italian restaurant where you can enjoy pizza, pasta, meat dishes and raclette, and the Scandinavian Brasserie & Wine Bar, which offers both typical Nordic and French cuisine.

Nightlife - Val Thorens offers one of the liveliest spots in Europe when it comes to après-ski and nightlife, and is in fact very popular among young people.
